On September 16th-18th, the District of Mississippi held its 50th Anniversary in the historic capital city of Jackson, MS. Seventy years ago, the District was organized as an incorporated body within the Fraternity in 1951, twenty-four years after the first chapter was chartered, Alpha Epsilon Lambda, in 1927. Several members of the Premier chapter attended this event along with members of the Rho Gamma Lambda Chapter seated in Greenwood, MS. During the event, our chapter was recognized for having the highest increase in membership during the 2020-2021 fraternal year. Brother Samuel Blackburn, our chapter’s first initiate (5/12/53) was also recognized as the oldest living brother in the District of Mississippi.
